Technology changes everything.

summer learning is fun at BCIT!

The BCIT School of Computing was proud to present the 10th Annual BCIT Computer Summer Camps in 2007.

Computer Summer Camp was a great summertime learning option for young people with beginner to intermediate computer skills between the ages of 10-15. These five-day camps combined daily indoor computer sessions with fun outdoor recreation, for a well-rounded camp experience. Campers learned in a hands-on computer lab environment, supervised by experienced staff, counselors and student volunteers.

On top of our well established courses in Web Creation, Java Games, and C# Games Development, we added four new courses last year:

  • Webpage Creation Level 2
  • 3-D Content Creation with Blender
  • XNA Games Development
  • Animation with Blender 3-D

One of the major reasons that these programs were so successful after ten successful years was our full time CST Students teaching and assisting in the Computer Summer Camp.

Because of current economic conditions, our full time and grad students all have jobs every summer and we have decided not to offer Computer Summer Camp again.

If your son or daughter shows any inclination towards programming or web development, they are welcome to attend our regular part time studies courses when they have reached Grade 12.

We encourage high school students to consider our full time CST and CIT Diplomas and recommend that they complete COMP 1409 and then COMP 1451 part time, to determine if they have the aptitude to develop software and systems.
